Questions the government where did the supply come from now ?

Srinagar,14 May(KS): In a surprising turn of events, residents of Srinagar Parliamentary seat residents wish for elections to be held every day following the unprecedented provision of round-the-clock electricity during the recent election period.

The residents of the Srinagar Parliamentary seat told news agency Kashmir Scroll that they have received round the clock power supply in the last two days and they wish elections everyday so that they can receive round the clock power supply.

They said that in the last two three months they have been receiving a very unscheduled power supply due to which they are suffering.

Muzzafar Ahmad a resident of Tahab area of Pulwama told Kashmir Scroll that after a long time now they have witnessed a 24×7 power supply because of the election and people wish elections every day so that they can witness scheduled power supply.

“I don’t have anything whosoever voted and who will win but witnessing 24×7 power supply after a long time has made us jubilant but this happiness will be short-lived as after elections will be over, there will be unscheduled power cuts again,” he told KS.

During the election period, authorities ensured uninterrupted power supply to polling stations and nearby areas to facilitate the voting process. This unexpected access to continuous electricity left residents amazed and prompted them to voice their desire for similar treatment every day.

Some residents pointed out the irony of having 24/7 electricity only during elections, highlighting the need for consistent infrastructure development and service provision irrespective of political events.

They argue that reliable access to electricity is not just a matter of convenience but a fundamental necessity for the well-being and development of Kashmiri communities

They said that they have been receiving a power supply of just a few hours even as their tariffs have been increased several times in the last one year.

Other residents while echoing the same voice questions the government about their claims of less power supply available.

Where did this supply come from today as even supply hasn’t been snapped for even a single minute, they said

They added that the government should have made additional power supply arrangements for elections without making people suffer.

They said that Srinagar Parliamentary seat residents has received 24×7 power supply during election while people of North and South were suffering.

Now supply will be diverted to North Kashmir where elections are scheduled to be held on 20 May while residents of other areas will suffer.

They requested higher ups to look into the matter and make additional arrangements of power so that residents of non-election areas won’t suffer.(KS)
