Anantnag, 30 July: The Admission Committee of Govt Degree College for Women Anantnag organized a Pre-Admission Counselling Session today on 29th July 2024 for the aspirants who are desirous of seeking admission in BG 1st Semester fresh Batch of 2024. The session was convened to acquaint the aspirants with the nitty-gritties of NEP 2020 and the programs and courses which the education policy offers.
In his address, the Principal, Prof. (Dr) Masood Ahmad Malik cordially welcomed the students wherein he enumerated the various facilities in terms of human resource as well as physical infrastructure the institution offers to the new entrants emphasizing upon the importance of selecting the right course and institution for one’s academic and professional growth. However, the learned professor left it to the budding scholars to make their choice of college.
Dr Refaz Ahmad, Convenor Admission Committee spoke at length on NEP and the choice of subjects/ courses it offers for students so that they are in a position to make informed choices. In addition, he informed the aspirants about various stages of the admission procedure.
The session which was conducted by Dr Towseef Ahmad Sheikh, Department of Clinical Bio-Chemistry concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Head, Department of Food Technology. The session was attended by around 300 students.
Later, besides familiarizing the students with the academic as well as co-curricular environment, they were given a sumptuous tour of various other facilities the institution offers like the Indoor Stadium, state of art Library, Browsing Centre, Girls Common Room, Gymnasium et cetera.
