Blind Murder case: Baramulla police arrested 4 persons

Baramulla,10 Aug (KS): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday claimed to have cracked blind murder case in North Kashmir’s Pattan area of Baramulla district by arresting four persons.

In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir Scroll, a police spokesperson said “On August 2, this year Police Post Palhallan received information about an unknown dead body found under the Khambiyar-Andergam bridge. The body was later identified as that of Nasir Ahmad Ganaie, a resident of Pousnag Kreeri.”

The police team led by SDPO Pattan DSP Shahjahan assisted by SHO Pattan Mohd Shafi and DO Palhalan SI Raees, carried out a sustained interrogation, examination of evidences and analysis of technical data and succeeded in identifying 4 accused’s.

They have been identified as Gh Mohiuddin Ganie son of Late Gh Nabi, Fatima Begum wife of Gh Mohiuddin Ganie, Rubeena Bano daughter of Gh Mohiuddin Ganie and Aadil Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Mohiuddin, all residents of Gundbal Pattan, District Baramulla, the spokesman added.

The investigation revealed that the accused hatched a conspiracy to kill the deceased on August 1, 2024, he added.

They strangulated him to death using a dupatta and later disposed off the body under the bridge.

The accuseds have been arrested and are currently under police custody. The police team has also recovered the weapon of offense (dupatta) and other vital evidence, he added.

Further investigation is under process in the instant case.—(KS)
