Srinagar, 15 Aug (KS): The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has strongly condemned the violence that erupted at RG Kar Medical College, where a group of hooligans targeted both the institution and its students.
The college which is at the centre of national attention for the past one week due to the rape and murder of the Chest Medicine PG student has been vandalism by hooligans.
An official told Kashmir Scroll that, This violence has not only damaged the college infrastructure but also threatened the safety of protesting medical students.
In a statement, the IMA has criticised the authorities for their failure to maintain law and order during this critical period when the Central Bureau of Investigation is examining the case.
They condemns this mindless violence and are apprehensive of loss of crucial evidence
The Association has called for an emergency consultation with it’s state branches to chart out the further action—(KS)
