Srinagar, Aug 20 (KS):- Two back to back earthquakes of magnitude 4.9 and 4.8 on the Richter scale struck Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir on Today morning, National Center for Seismology said.
In a post on X NCS as per the news agency Kashmir Scroll said that an earthquake of 4.9 magnitude occurred in Baramulla at around 06:45 IST.
The earthquake struck at a depth of 5 km at a longitude of 74.15 East and latitude of 34.17 North
Another earthquake of 4.8 magnitude occurred at 6:52 IST.
The depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometres at a longitude of 74.31 East and latitude of 34.20 North.
No loss of life or damage has been reported so far—(KS)
