Man Injured, several houses damaged after back to back Earthquakes hit Baramulla

Srinagar, 20 Aug(KS): Two earthquakes struck Baramulla district this morning, causing injuries and structural damage in North Kashmir, reports said.

The first quake, measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale, occurred at 6:45 AM, followed by a second tremor with a magnitude of 4.8 at 6:52 AM.

Reports said that a man from Uri, Baramulla, sustained injuries after jumping from a building in a panic during the tremors. He was immediately taken to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment.

Several houses in the area have suffered structural damage, however, there have been no reports of collapsed structures.—(KS)
