IUST Organizes Week Long Celebration to mark National Youth Day under Red Ribbon Club

Awantipora: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) marked the National Youth Day on January 12, 2024, with a week-long celebration in collaboration with SKIMS Medical College Bemina and Jammu Kashmir AIDS Control Society (JKACS) under Red Ribbon Club Program.

Ms. Asmat Parveen, Principal of Syed Mantaqui Memorial College of Nursing & Medical Technology (SMMCN&MT), spearheaded the event themed “Arise, Awake and Realize the Power You Hold” in commemoration of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. The initiative aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and empowerment in the youth.

The highlight of the celebration was a series of awareness programs led by B.Sc. Nursing 4th year students from SMMCN&MT, IUST with the faculty Syed Rohi Jan IUST. These programs focused on educating the youth about AIDS and drug abuse, utilizing informative AV aids to visually convey crucial information.

The youth were enlightened about their rights and strengths, encouraging them to actively contribute to the nation’s development. Ms. Chesfeeda, the In-Charge of Nursing Administration, MC Bemina commended the students for their proactive role in organizing impactful activities.

The week-long event successfully concluded on January 16, 2024, leaving a lasting impression on the participants and fostering a sense of civic duty among the youth.
