District Hospital Pulwama Responds to Allegations of Patient’s Death Due to Lack of Doctor Availability

Srinagar, May 06 (KS):- A video went viral on social media alleging that a patient died as there was no doctor available to treat the patient.

According to News Agency Kashmir Scroll they alleged that the patient seeking urgent medical attention, however no doctor was available to treat him, resulting in death.

In response to the viral video, District Hospital Pulwama issued a statement, refuting claims of negligence and providing insights into the patient,s treatment.

The statement reads that Ghulam Nabi Dar aged 67 hailing from Kangan Pulwama was admitted with chief complaints of breathlessness.

The vitals were checked, on admission he had oxygen saturation alarmingly low at 73%, they added.

The doctors on duty provided all the assistance needed as per standard medical protocol, timely, however the patient breathed his last despite attempts of revival, statement reads.

“Some people created ruckus and tried to prevent doctors from performing their legitimate duties however attendants were informed properly and written consent was obtained as per procedure” the statement reads.
