Four Health Officials suspended for dereliction of duties in Verinag

Srinagar, May 07 (:- Four health employees were suspended in Verinag block of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district for dereliction of duties.

As per an order issued by Block Medical officer Verinag, a copy of which lies with this News Agency these employees were suspended for their gross negligence while admitting a patient.

“Pending enquiry, the Officer/Officials of NTPHC Kapran have been placed under suspension with immediate effect for their Gross Negligence while admitting a Patient in the Day care IPD Ward,” reads the order.

The Officials include Dr Towseef Ahmad Lone Medical Officer, Farooq Ahmad Bhat Jr Pharmacist, Gul Mohd Shiekh Nursing Orderly and Nazir Ahmad Shiekh Sahfaiewala.

It is pertinent to mention here that authorities suspended the officials after a video went viral on which patient was seen locked in the day ward and left him unattended.

In video, man alleged that patient was administered glucose and then locked inside the ward while medical staff left the hospital.

Officials said that the team has been constituted and further investigation has been taken up in this regard
