Tral, 31 May: In observance of World No Tobacco Day, students of Hamdard Grammar School in Tral sub district took to the streets on Friday, spearheading an awareness rally aimed at combating tobacco use.

The vibrant procession commenced from the school premises and wound its way through the bustling thoroughfares, culminating in Uptown Tral via the Bus Stand area.

Brandishing colorful placards adorned with poignant messages denouncing tobacco consumption, the students marched with fervor, determined to spread their advocacy throughout the town. Amidst the rhythmic cadence of footsteps, resonant anti-tobacco slogans echoed through the streets, capturing the attention of onlookers and passersby alike.

While talking to the media, the students emphasized the critical importance of steering clear of the perils of tobacco addiction. They passionately urged the youth to eschew the allure of drug abuse, underscoring the paramount significance of prioritizing academic pursuits and athletic endeavors as pathways to a fulfilling and joyous existence.

Pertinently, “World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on 31 May. The annual observance informs the public on the dangers of using tobacco, the business practices of tobacco companies, what the World Health Organization (WHO) is doing to fight against the use of tobacco, and what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and healthy living and to protect future generations.”
